Hi, I’m Evgenii Tsymbalov, an Applied Scientist and ML researcher based in Aachen, Germany. I work on multimodal LLMs, uncertainty estimation, speech, translation, and machine learning research. Here I share my work, publications, and writing on research, technology, and occasional side quests.
Current focus
My recent work has focused on multimodal and language models, uncertainty estimation, speech and translation systems, and the intersection of research ideas with practical ML systems. I’m especially interested in building methods that are useful both scientifically and in real-world settings.
A few areas you may want to explore:
- Work: industry experience across Amazon, AppTek, Yandex, Huawei, and earlier ML/data roles;
- Research: publications in venues such as ACL, EMNLP, EACL, and PNAS, including recent works on uncertainty and hallucination detection in LLMs;
- Writing: blog posts and notes on machine learning, conferences, interviews, and personal observations from academia and industry.
I’m always happy to connect about research, ML engineering, collaboration, or interesting problems. You can find me on LinkedIn, Google Scholar, and Telegram.
